Welcome back to the New Mom Boss Podcast! 


Many new moms, myself included, put all of their attention on the delivery of their newborn, but very little into their lives afterward. 


What will it be like to welcome a newborn into your family? How will you support your body as it tries to heal from labor? Who else are you going to lean on when extra support is needed?


In addition to a lack of preparation, there’s also very little help from the medical community in those first six weeks postpartum. 


My guest, Jodi Graves, rightly refers to this time as The Black Hole of Healthcare. 


Jodi is a clinical nutritionist, birth & postpartum doula, agency owner, and host of the podcast 'Tea with Jodi'. She is so passionate about her work and has made it her mission to bring real change to birth and postpartum health in the United States. 


In our conversation, we discuss more about The Black Hole of Healthcare, what women can do to find support in those 6-8 weeks postpartum, and the importance of nutrition while the body is healing. She also explains the differences between a birth doula and a postpartum doula, telling us more about the options available to pregnant women.
