Back when I was pregnant, there was so much I did to prepare for my baby. But despite my best efforts, I was still feeling overwhelmed.
Well, they say hindsight is 20/20, and I later found out that I had overprepared for things that weren’t very important, and underprepared for the things that really mattered.
I know I’m not alone in making this mistake, which is why I’ve made it my mission to help other new moms prepare the right way to welcome their babies.
My guest Heather Ratych has also made it her mission to help new moms, by guiding them through all of the emotions that come with pregnancy and postpartum at her Ontario-based perinatal and maternal mental health clinic, Bloom Psychotherapy.
As a Psychotherapist, Reproductive and Perinatal Specialist, and mom, Heather is all too familiar with the messages that torment women in this stage of life, and is passionate about supporting them in feeling grounded, confident, and connected.

Heather is a Psychotherapist and Reproductive and Perinatal Specialist who helps guide individuals and couples through the excitement, anxiety, stress, overwhelm, grief, and chaos of fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and motherhood. She is the Owner and Clinical Director of Bloom Psychotherapy, an Ontario-based virtual perinatal and maternal mental health clinic.
Heather has specialized training and certification in Perinatal and Maternal Mental Health, and has extensive experience supporting those navigating infertility, pregnancy loss, stillbirth, birth trauma, postpartum anxiety and depression, overwhelm and parenting challenges. It was her experiences with difficulty conceiving, intense postpartum anxiety and medical trauma that led her to specialize in supporting individuals in their adjustment to parenthood.
